Great news for Stephen King fans. CBS has ordered 13 episodes of a TV adaptation of Stephen King's popular novel 'Under the Dome.' The series, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios, is expected to debut next summer.
Swedish Director Neil Ardens Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) will direct the first episode. The screenwriting team includes Neal Baer, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, DreamWorks partner Stacey Snider and Brian K. Vaughn, and Stephen King; they will also serve as executive producers on the show.
Here's the official synopsis: “UNDER THE DOME is the story of a small New England town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from and if and when it will go away.”
