Microsoft has released some stats about the Xbox 360, Kinect and Xbox Live. The Xbox 360 is still selling well with over 76 million units sold to date. This is three times the amount the original Xbox console sold. The Kinect device is also selling strong with over 24 million units sold since it first went on sale in 2010. Xbox LIVE Gold members in the USA spent an average of 87 hours on their Xbox 360′s each month in 2012. This is 10 percent more than in 2011. There are now 46 million Xbox LIVE community members.
“We believe that Xbox is being used by more people in the household, during more hours in the day and for more forms of entertainment,” Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi said. “People are using Xbox in the morning to work out with the Kinect Nike+ Fitness program, kids are watching cartoons, families are enjoying movies, and of course people are playing blockbuster games like ‘Halo 4.’”
