Legendary documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, and actor Tom Hanks are joining forces for an HBO miniseries about boxing legend Jack Johnson, who was the first black man to become world heavyweight champion.
HBO has tapped 'Ides of March' screenwriter Beau Willimon to write the script, with Tom Hanks and Ken Burns producing. Ken Burns will also direct.
'Jack Johnson' is based on the Geoffrey C. Ward book 'Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise And Fall Of Jack Johnson.'
