Howard Gordon Talks 'Homeland' Seasons 3; Damian Lewis' Season 3 Fate Revealed

It's official: Damien Lewis will return for Season 3 of Homeland. Lewis' future on the show was up in the air because of the way season 2 ended. Just a few weeks ago, Exec producer Alex Gansa said Lewis’ future in Season 3 was “an open question. We had a much clearer picture of what the first two seasons would be than we do of what the third season would be…. Damian’s involvement and [the actors who fill out Brody's family] is very much up in the air.”

But now it's confirmed. Howard Gordon told TVLine last night after the show's Golden Globes win the following:

“He’s alive so of course he’ll be back,” Gordon said at Fox’s after party. “One of the great challenges of next [season] is how he’ll be back. But there’s no doubt that he will be back.”

Homeland will be back September, 29.
